"What type of web browser should I be using?"

"It's saying that the PIN I'm typing is invalid. Why?"


Username and Password Questions
"I can't remember my username or password. Will you send them to me?"
"I'm having trouble creating a username and password. Everything I typed in it says it's invalid. What am I doing wrong?"
"Everytime I try to create a username and password, the screen shows an error message that says it is having technical difficulties. I've been trying several times but with same problem every time. What should I do?"

SSN Questions
"After logging in, I typed my SSN. Then it gave me an error that says 'The SSN you have entered is not valid for your user name.' What does that mean?"
"I put in the wrong SSN on my application. How can I correct this?"

Assessment Questions
"After finishing the assessment, it showed an error screen that says my connection is gone, or 'The connection with the server needs to be reestablished.' Is my application submitted?"
"I answered a few questions on the pre-employment assessment, but I want to go back and start over again. Can I do that?"

"What type of web browser should I be using?"

The following web browsers are recommended:
If your system does not meet these requirements, we encourage you to either download the compatible browsers, or access from a public system such as a library, school, or other method.

Have you previously applied or started an application at a Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, or Distribution Center Hiring Center Kiosk within the last 60 days? If so, the PIN you should enter is the same PIN you used when you applied at the store/club/DC. If you do not remember your PIN from the Hiring Center Kiosk or the Online Hiring Center, please go to that facility and ask for personnel. Please show the personnel Associate your picture identification and ask that individual to look up your PIN.

If you applied online and do not remember your PIN, please go to the Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, or Distribution Center where you wish to apply and ask personnel to look up your PIN. Bring proper photo identification with you.


 
"I can't remember my username or password. Will you send them to me?"

If you can't remember your username and/or password, you may create another username and password. After logging in with your new username and password, you will then have to type in your SSN and PIN to retrieve your application.

Also, your username and password may have expired. Please try to create a new username and password.

You also have the option to update your application at your local Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, or Distribution Center by using the Hiring Kiosk. All you need there are your SSN and PIN.


 
"I'm having trouble creating a username and password. Everything I typed in it says it's invalid. What am I doing wrong?"

When creating a username, the username should be 7-11 characters (letters and numbers) long.
Examples of usernames are:
   - myUsername
   - JaneDoe99
   - apply4job

When creating your password, you must follow these rules:
   a. 7-11 characters (letters and numbers) long
   b. Must have capital letters
   c. Must have non-capital letters
   d. Must have numbers
   e. Must not contain spaces

To help you with your password selection, please see the examples below. For your own security protection, we advise that you do not use these exact passwords. These are examples only.

Examples of valid passwords:
   - Apply123
   - heLLo88
   - 1234Pass

Examples of invalid passwords and why they are invalid:
   - apply 123 (spaces are not allowed)
   - hello88 (missing capital letters)
   - PASSWORD (missing numbers and non-capital letters)
   - myPassword9382 (more than 11 characters long)

The problem you experienced may be related to the type of web browser you're using. Please make sure that you use the recommended web browsers. (Click here to see list of recommended browsers)

If you're still having problems with the site even after you switched to the recommended web browser, please let us know and specify what the problem is (error messages, in which screens you encountered the error, etc.)


 
"After logging in, I typed my SSN. Then it gave me an error that says 'The SSN you have entered is not valid for your user name.' What does that mean?"

If you have logged in with your username before and have used a different SSN with it, you will not be allowed to use a different SSN. If you feel that this is not the case, try to create a new username and password and then try to log in again.


 
"After finishing the assessment, it showed an error screen that says my connection is gone, or 'The connection with the server needs to be reestablished.' Is my application submitted?"

Please try to go back to the login screen and login again. When you get to a page that asks you if you want to go directly to the assessment screen, click on "Yes". When you get to the assessment screen, it should tell you if you have finished all required assessments.


 
"I can't type in any phone number. It's saying that I need to type in a valid phone number. It won't take it. What should I do?"

The phone number should only consist of numbers, no hyphens, no parentheses. If your phone number is (333)444-5555, then you should type in 3334445555.


 
"I want to apply to this store that's being built in _______. Why can't I find it online when I search for it?"

Online applications will be accepted only for facilities that have opened or new facilities that are 56 days from the grand opening date.


 
"I answered a few questions on the pre-employment assessment, but I want to go back and start over again. Can I do that?"

You may not go back to the previous screens to change your answers to the assessment.


 
"It says that I failed the assessment. Can I retake the assessment?"

If you did not pass the Retail Pre-Employment Assessment or the Logistics Pre-Employment Assessment, you may retake it after 60 days.

If you took the Supervisory Leadership Assessment but did not pass it, you may retake it after 6 months.


 
"I need to change something in my application that I've finished. How do I do that?"

Log back into the Online Hiring Center with your username and password, then type in your SSN and PIN to pull up your application.

You also may update your application at your local Wal-Mart store, Sam's Club, or Distribution Center by using the Hiring Kiosk.


 
"I put in the wrong SSN on my application. How can I correct this?"

Go to the Wal-Mart store, Sam's Club, or Distribution Center where you wish to apply and let personnel know about it.

Your session might have timed out. Please login again. If you're still experiencing the same problem, the type of web browser you're using might be causing the problem. Please note that we recommend that you use Internet Explorer version 6.0 or above. Web browsers like Mozilla Firefox 21.0 and above, Google Chrome 27.0.1453.110 m and above and Safari: IOS 6.1.4 and above are also supported by this site. Some applicants have reported having problems with certain versions of the Firefox web browser. Please make sure that you use the recommended web browser. "I can't copy and paste my resume into the Career Web Site. How do I paste my resume?"
(Note: This is on the Wal-Mart Corporate Careers web site, not the Online Hiring Center.)

To paste your resume, click on the field where you want to paste it and then use Ctrl-V. You can also paste using your web browser's menu. Click on "Edit" then "Paste". Click here to go to the Wal-Mart Corporate Careers web site.
